Sì alle statine anche in prevenzione primaria, ma solo nei soggetti ad alto rischio. Nuove linee guida Usa – Quotidiano Sanità

Secondo gli esperti americani dell’Us Preventive Services Task Force, negli ultimi anni si sono accumulate evidenze scientifiche sufficienti per raccomandare l’uso delle statine a dosaggio basso-intermedio, nei soggetti tra i 40 e i 75 anni senza storia di patologie cardiovascolari. Ma che abbiano altri fattori di rischio e un rischio di eventi a 10 anni superiore al 10%

Statin Use for Primary Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease in Adults | Cardiology | JAMA | The JAMA Network

This Recommendation Statement from the US Preventive Services Task Force recommends use of low- to moderate-dose statins for primary prevention in adults aged 40 to 75 years who have 1 or more CVD risk factors and a calculated CVD event risk of 10% or greater (B recommendation).
